Our Original Artist

Been thinking of my Grandmother.  It’s just over a year since she passed away at 97 years young.  Such a huge part of my life and truly one of the best parts.  This painting by her has hung on my wall(s) since she first sent it to live with me in Ireland in 1988.  She knew how much I loved Ireland and she loved the thought and feel of Ireland.   Although she never made it over for a visit…she really longed to.   I sent her lots of letters and pics in the hopes of sharing my love of our life in Cork and my adventures around the southern part of the country.  About 6 years ago she was at my house for a visit and stood in front of this painting and said “I’d be very happy resting in this place”.  She then grinned and said…  “Your Grandma’s a pretty good artist”   Every time I look at this painting, I imagine her there, happy, resting, at peace.  Love you Grandma!  Thank you for always being my safe and peaceful place.Image
